Cyclone Sidr
11.20.07 (9:48 am) [edit]There is a killer walking tall in Bangaladesh.It's name is Cyclone Sidr.Sidr has managed to create a valley of death out of the already impoverished country:2500 lives have already been claimed and the number is still rising.Sidr has left an effect of a deficit in food,drinking water and medicine supplies .There are no coffins to bury the dead with such that grieving families are "begging" for clothes to bury the dead with.I know I sound pretty boring and seroius nowadays.I'm sorry.Bear with me.Why am I writing this ?But imagine this someone being trapped in an island with no hope that he could survive to see the tommorrow that some one like me takes oh-so lightly .Because of this killer.We can't afford to be ignorant today of the world's problem ,even from a far.Watch and read the media.Say a prayer.

It is a great tragedy- the immediate catastrophe, and the ongoing impoverishment of the people. There must be more far-reaching answers, deeper answers, than just sending money. What are some long-term solutions, in your opinion?
